Information updates

As event organisers we will make every effort to provide the latest information on all acts and timings as well as practical arrangements on the website and social media platforms. As event goers you should ensure that you check these sites to be informed of the latest information prior to attending the event.

Venue entry

You must present a printed or electronic ticket upon request at the venue in order to be granted access.

Venues Access

The Tandem Outdoor Arena is a temporary venue situated on The Close, in the grounds of Rugby School accessed via Queen’s Gate on Barby Road. Patrons should be aware that car parking in the town centre may be a short distance away from the venue. The area immediately surrounding the venue is grassed and in wet weather may be slippery. For information on Assisted access, see above.

Wet Weather Policy

Our open-air venues are subject to the vagaries of the British weather. The health and safety of our performers and audiences is our primary concern and therefore in poor weather we may be required to stop and re-start performances in this venue or even end it early. For our cancellation policy please see below. It's best to come prepared for all types of weather: bringing your own shade in the afternoon is particularly important, as is a jumper for the end of evening performances. Sun hats, sun cream, sunglasses, raincoats and rain hats should all be considered. Umbrellas are not permitted. Although most performances are completed each year, as the auditorium is completely uncovered, we may have to stop and re-start the show. On rare occasions, it will not be possible for us to complete the performance, but we will never cancel a performance before the advertised start time. We don't want to disappoint anyone - audiences or our artists (who are always keen to perform, if possible).

Tickets are non-refundable in the event of cancellation because of the weather but may be exchanged for ticket(s) to events in Macready Theatre's public programme up to the equivalent cost, or to next year's Festival on The Close. We are fortunate that Festival on The Close is part of the Macready Theatre's public programme of professional comedy, theatre, film, dance and music, meaning in the unlikely event that one of our festival events is cancelled, we can offer you a range of amazing alternatives in exchange to choose from to make up for your disappointment. When you're ready to exchange you should: a. Find the event(s) you would like to exchange your tickets for on Macready Theatre website. b. Contact the Theatre by emailing info@macreadytheatre.co.uk with your request or write to: The Theatre Manager, Macready Theatre, Lawrence Sheriff Street, Rugby, CV22 5EH. In both cases, please state your original booking order number, full name, address and make sure to include the preferred event(s) you wish to exchange into.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

As event organisers we reserve the right to alter and/or amend the advertised guest/support artists/performers, event schedules, performance timings (advertised or otherwise) and advertised programme content, without prior notice and without liability. In the event that a headline act cancels with at least 24 hours’ prior notice, every effort will be made to provide an alternative act of a similar status and genre and you will be notified of any such change. If you are unhappy with the replacement act(s), you can apply to the festival organisers for a refund of your ticket price minus any booking fee which you may have paid, though this must be done in advance by emailing info@macreadytheatre.co.uk If a headline act cancels with less than 24 hours’ notice prior to a performance, a full refund will be made less any booking fee which may have been paid. For wet weather cancellation policy, see above.
